About Metroid and Metroid Galaxy
In 1986, a new game was presented for the Nintendo Entertainment SystemTM called Metroid, featuring dark and warped worlds, alien creatures, and an all new star, Samus Aran. The levels of exploration in the game were unmatched by any other of it's time, and for an 8 bit system, Metroid became all the rage. The creature itself, a Metroid, was a parasitic life form capable of draining the life force from any living creature and killing it in the process, growing bigger and stronger at the same time. The storyline given along with this was all that was needed to launch this game into the archives of gaming history, and ever since, it has been a series of almost unstoppable popularity, spawning Metroid II : The Return of Samus (1991, Gameboy), Super Metroid (1994, Super Nintendo) Metroid Prime (2002, GameCube), Metroid Fusion (2002, Gameboy Advance), Metroid Zero Mission (2004, Gameboy Advance), Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (2004, GameCube), Metroid Prime Hunters (????, Nintendo DS), Metroid Dread (????, Nintendo DS), Metroid Prime Pinball (2005, Nintendo DS), and Metroid Prime 3 (????, Nintendo Revolution).

The star of the game, Samus Aran, has also made numerous appearances in some cartoon TV series and other video games, including a playable fighter in both Super Smash Bros. (Nintendo 64), and Super Smash Bros. Melee (GameCube).

Metroid Galaxy (opened in December, 2002) is a website dedicated to showing off its fanatics of Metroid through game showcasing, community efforts, and allowing others to come together and show off their own fanaticism as well through message boards and other such things. It's run by GieGie, and it's message boards are moderated by several Metroid fans throughout the community.

The Shoutbox has been removed due to www.ShoutMix.com's domain expiration and the consequent cause of popups on the site. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. As an alternative, try using the Message Board instead.
