Metroid Galaxy Message Board |
Please note that any questions you have regarding using images in signatures or using avatars is covered at the bottom of the page. If the information there does not help you, then the problem you're having is probably a somewhat advanced one, and I'm not taking the time out to explain it to you on this page saying I know what the problem is. Thank you.
So, you're either interested in joining the message board, or you're confused about something?? Well, you've come to the right place here.......
The Guidelines are as follows...
Welcome to the MG Message Boards. As with many Message Boards on the net, this one has rules, but unlike some, this one is FREE!!! We talk about anything and everything Metroid. Here are the rules for the MGMB:
1. Please be respectful of other peoples thoughts, wishes, feelings, and opinions on this board!!! Just because someone likes something you don't doesn't mean they need to be bashed in the head!!!
2. Some swear words allowed, but not overly vulgar ones!!! If it's not necessary to say, then please don't say it!!!
3. When posting something that would reveal a part of a Metroid game to everyone else, always put SPOILER in the post!!!
4. Keep rumors and facts separated at all times!!! If you know something for a fact that has just recently happened, it always helps to show where you found it out at!!!
5. Please post as if you have some sense and do not act as if you are a child. One line posts take up a lot of space, so if you're going to post something, try to have some content to it.
6. Have fun!!!!!!!
So, how do you join the MGMB you ask??? This is simple. Simply visit the boards and sign up for a free account. You simply need a username, a password, and a valid email address since you will recieve a confirmation email to activate your account on the MGMB. If that' not simple enough, then I don't know what is.
Help Topics
If you're wanting to know more about how to use the message board then I've set up a few basic help topics here for you. I'm also going to describe the basic "ranks" here so you'll know what they mean and why they're there.
The forum is divided up into categories, such as Metroid, and All Topics. Each category has different forums. For example, you'd find the Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion forums in the Metroid Category and you'd find the General Chat under the All Topics Category.
To post your topic, find the forum you want to post in, and click on it. From there, you'll see a list of topics in that forum. Click on a topic to read it if you'd like, or to start a new topic, click on the new topic button (seen below).
Here's some of the buttons you'll see and their basic functions.
Clicking on this button will let you start a new topic.
Clicking on this button will let you start a new topic with a voting poll.
Clicking on this button will let you reply to a topic started by someone else.
Basic enough for you?? If you're wondering about the voting poll, this is if you want to ask a question, and then put different answers down so that other members may vote on their answer, useful if you'd like to get an opinion on something.
User Titles
When you first start posting, your title will be newbie. It takes 15 posts to get to the next title of Space pirate. After those are Metroid (150 posts), Nintendo Freak (300 posts), and Bounty Hunter (500 posts). Also, at 500 posts, you'll get the option to change your custom title to whatever you'd like it to be, for example, my title is Queen of the Dark.
I can change users custom titles, but don't expect me to do it unless I know you well. You can ask me to, but chances are I won't.
What do these titles mean you ask? Well, at lower levels they just mean you'll probably get bashed a little more than the regulars here, then again maybe you won't. The higher level you get, the more chance of getting my attention on something you have. In essence however, they really mean nothing. They're just really cute LoL.
Avatars and Signatures
An avatar is a small image that represents the user. The default size on this forum for avatars is 100x100 pixels. To change your avatar, go to the top of the page on the Message Board and look for the link "My Controls". (Members only) After clicking on My Controls, you can edit your avatar from the link on the left side of the page. It will give you the option to upload your own, or to hotlink to one from another server. If you've opted to upload your own, but cannot get the file to display, or are receiving some sort of error message, then chances are that the file you uploaded was too big, either in file size or in image size. You may also choose one of the files from the galleries offered by invision free. There's not alot in those galleries, but you may find something you like anyway.
You edit your signature in the same way. Go to the "My Control" link and look for the "Edit Signature" link on the following page. Edit your signature and your done. Nice and simple. Please remember these features are for members only.
This concludes my small help topic section. If there's a problem you're having that's not on here, then you can get in touch with me, post your question on the message board, or try to figure it out yourself again. Good luck and have fun!!!

The Shoutbox has been removed due to www.ShoutMix.com's domain expiration and the consequent cause of popups on the site. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. As an alternative, try using the Message Board instead.
